Terry, the Executive Director of the Running Industry Association (RIA), needed help.
His ask: “Where can we host our upcoming RIA Buying Summit that our members will want to attend?”
On behalf of RICS and without asking any questions, I said, “We’ll do it!”
In following up with Terry to get the details on what I had signed us up for, he wanted to make sure I understood that this would not be an opportunity for RICS to pitch its product or services, but a pure hosting role.
My reaction: “Even better!”
So, why would we host an event that we’re not leading or speaking in?
1. The RIA is a tremendous resource for the good of the entire running industry; an industry that we support financially and are deeply committed to.
2. As a company that serves 50% of U.S. Run Specialty retailers through our Inventory and POS solution, we’re constantly looking for ways that we can help the industry grow stronger.
3. When a partner organization you care about asks for help … you help.
We’re excited to have some of the best and brightest retailers, buyers, and thought leaders in our new headquarters to sharpen their skills on buying for inventory performance, cash flow gains, and higher profits. There’s so much value that can be created by having people who want to get better by sharing ideas, being immersed in a subject, and spending dedicated time together and we’re eager to help. Even if it’s just lending our space to welcomed guests.
We’re looking forward to connecting with clients and meeting some new faces at the upcoming RIA Buying Summit on June 5th and 6th!
