Footwear Buyer & Operations Manager
Potomac River Running
Ryan Long is the footwear buyer at Potomac River Running (PRR), a specialty run store located in Sterling, VA. With more than eight years of buying experience, Ryan is Potomac’s resident expert on creating a data-informed plan that helps keep PRR profitable. In addition to buying and inventory management, Ryan is responsible for events, staff scheduling, and social media. Fun fact: he once drove 200 miles for a Cajun Fillet biscuit from Bojangles!
Jimmy lives and breathes data. With 5 years of inventory management experience in a retail franchise environment, Jimmy understands that data plays an important role in sustainable growth. Today, Jimmy heads up our Support Team, helping retailers optimize inventory control and grow profitability every day.
“I have a lot of confidence in the reporting,” says Long. “Being able to trust the numbers is key. I buy based on numbers. And unfortunately, this sets us apart from our competitors because they’re trusting their gut instincts, their personal side, instead of the numbers.”
Creating a buying plan for retail informed by your data gives you a competitive edge and can improve your business strategy overall. We hope to see you at the event!
