Physical Inventory

To assist in taking physical inventory, RICS allows several options designed to make this time-consuming task much easier. One can print a physical inventory worksheet, enter the counts, print items that were not counted, print a variance report and update the inventory. A portable bar code reader is available for scanning physical inventory counts and automatically transferring them into the RICS system. Bar code scanners can also be attached to a notebook computer to scan inventory. (Portable bar code readers can also be used for scanning receiving and transfers.)

Quote System

RICS now also includes a complete quote system. This system is designed for retailers who make special price quotations for selected customers. This is an ideal feature for athletic retailers who do team business, for stores that sell clothing or footwear to factory workers or other large employers, or any retailer offering special pricing to any customers.

This system allows users to enter quotes for SKUs with special pricing for a specific date range and print the quote for that customer. Once a quote is accepted by the customer and is activated, those special prices for that customer are automatically used any time a sale is entered using that customer account number, at either the main computer or at POS. Quotes can be printed, modified, added to, deleted, or merged together.

Price Changes

RICS contains a feature that allows the user to manually enter future price changes. Price changes to take affect at a future date can be entered in advance and then be automatically updated on the appropriate day. This feature also optionally allows RICS to automatically change those same SKUs back to the original price at a later date.

Price changes can be automatically increased or decreased by a selected percentage, for all SKUs within selected categories, vendors, groups, or seasons. These prices can be rounded to the nearest 95¢ , 99¢ , etc. and can also be coded to take affect at a future date and revert back to the original price on a different date. Both of these features make it easy to run special sales for a weekend or other time period and automatically revert back to the regular price at the end of the sale.

For users with multiple stores, different retail prices can be entered for the same SKU for the different stores.

On-Line Help

The RICS system comes with a complete On-Line Help feature for both the main and POS computers. This allows the user to press F1 key or the Help option on any screen for instant help regarding that menu or feature. The On-Line Help also offers a Table of Contents, Index, quick searches on key words, and cross indexing for related topics.
