Customer Profiles

Many retailers are turning to direct mail as a viable, cost-effective tool to increase repeat business and bring new customers into their store. Included as a part of the RICS system is the ability to enter names and addresses into a customer or prospect file. Reports or mailing labels can be sorted by ID number, name, or zip code. You can also make a number of selections to only print those names that meet selected criteria. The system will automatically keep a customer profile history of items purchased by each customer and allow printing based on a wide range of choices. You can select all who purchased a certain brand, category, SKU, size, date range, or more than a certain dollar amount. In addition to printing mailing lists, users can export mail files to disk for companies that provide mailing services.

The customer information and complete purchase history is always available at the POS for sales associates. This is a tremendous tool to assist them in waiting on customers, because it puts at their finger tips all previous sales history. Sales associates can review all previous purchases showing date, ticket, sales person, SKU, size/width, and price. Also displayed is vendor, category, and SKU description. Handling customer returns without a sales receipt is now very simple. Knowing what type of customer you are waiting on makes customer service both more productive and personalized.

Extensive comments and notes can also be entered for each customer. An ‘ALERT’ flag can be placed on certain customers which forces a displayed comment on the sales screen before a sale can be entered. That way, problem customers such as one who writes bad checks can be easily identified at POS.

Family Members

Separate family member information and their purchase history can also be tracked for the same account, giving the user complete information about each individual within that account. This can be a very important feature for family or children stores who want to know what each individual family member has purchased. Mailing can be selected for size reminder and birthday cards.

Frequent Buyer Plan

The RICS user can elect to track buyer purchases and automatically award product discounts after a minimum purchase requirement has been met. The Frequent Buyer Plan is configurable to award discounts based on any number of items purchased, the total dollar amount purchased, or a fixed percentage discount on every eligible purchase. For example, a store might offer customers a credit after purchasing 6 or maybe 12 items with the credit based on the average value of those purchases or a customer might qualify for a $50 credit after purchasing $500 of merchandise.

The sales person is automatically notified on the screen when a customer has earned the discount and the amount is calculated, displayed on the screen, and printed on the sales ticket. The customer’s current frequent buyer plan balance can also be printed on the sales ticket each time they make a purchase. Reports or mail labels can be printed for selected plans based on current plan balance of quantity or dollars purchased.

Email

Email address is also available on the screen when adding new names in Enter Mailing List. A selection criteria is also available to Print Mailing List to choose only names with an email address or only names without an email address.
