EDI Interface
EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) is the process of having your computer system communicate with your manufacturer’s computer system, through a third party VAN (Value Added Network). CSI was one of the very first systems to be certified for integration by S&ST (Shoe & Sport Talk), a program developed by the NSRA. S&ST has now been discontinued, but since then CSI has worked with and integrated with a number of VANs to provide connectivity between vendors and retailers. This process allows a retailer to electronically receive UPC bar code information from the manufacturer so the retailer can scan manufacturers’ bar codes and also allows the retailer to transmit purchase orders and sales data directly to the vendor. Please contact CSI for more information on EDI alternatives that are also available.
Accounts Receivable
RICS has a complete Accounts Receivable module. It allows the user to post charges and payments from RICS point of sale, enter adjustments and payments on accounts, print all audit reports of transactions and balances, print aged trial balances, print statements, and calculate finance charges and late fees. Both open item accounts (commercial) and balance forward accounts (individuals) are supported.
Networking
RICS supports networking multiple PC workstations, including your POS computer, directly to a main computer in the backroom. Using a Windows peer to peer network will allow multiple workstations to all share and update the same data files on the main computer.
